Despite recent shark attacks along North Carolina Beaches, expect plenty of visitors this July 4th holiday weekend. Experts suggest people not swim at dusk into the overnight and to avoid swimming near piers and after storms.
Two people were injured early Friday in a house fire in northern Durham County. The blaze was reported just after 4 a.m. near the intersection of Sandalwood Drive and Roxboro Road.
A 25-year-old Army sergeant who was planning to take photos in military gear was arrested at Fayetteville’s Cross Creek Mall Thursday evening after dozens of panicked 911 calls from shoppers.
Three people were hurt early Friday when a driver swerved to miss a deer, lost control, and hit a tree. It happened along Knightdale Eagle Rock Road near Highway 64/264 just after 1 a.m. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
