A manhunt in underway in South Carolina, for a man who opened fire during a prayer meeting inside a historic black church
in downtown Charleston on Wednesday night. The gunman killed nine people, including the pastor, authorities are calling it a hate crime.
LOCAL NEWS
Chapel Hill police are working to find out why a toddler was left on a day care bus. The incident happened on Tuesday when triple digit heat blanketed the triangle. The child’s mother filed a police report, after administrators at the day care begged her not to go to the authorities.
STATE NEWS
A new gun bill is on the way to the State Senate. The House gave final approval to the bill which no longer repeals background checks, it also removes a provision allowing law makers to carry guns inside the legislature.
The Moral Monday protests continued at the North Carolina General Assembly yesterday. Rev. Dr. Barber along with a half dozen people were arrested protesting the Voter ID bill outside the North Carolina House.
The state Senate takes a final vote on the 21-1/2 billion dollar budget. The bill cuts 8,000 teaching assistant positions over the next 2 years, while giving a large tax break to corporations.
