Weather-Closing

Due to the rain/ snow/ sleet and freezing ice in parts of North Carolina, including the Triangle, Gov. Pat McCrocy declared a state of emergency on Monday.

There is also current a winter storm warning and weather alerts for the following counties: Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Sampson, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson.

As a result of the dangerous weather and driving conditions, schools, and businesses are either closed or operating on delays.

Chapel Hill- Carrboro City Schools – Closed Tuesday

Chatham County public schools– Closed Tuesday

Cumberland County schools – 2-hour delay Tuesday.

Durham County public schools– Closed Tuesday

Edgecombe County public schools– Closed Tuesday

Franklin County public schools– Closed Tuesday

Granville County public schools– Closed Tuesday

Halifax County schools – Closed Tuesday

Harnett County schools – Closed Tuesday

Hoke County schools – 2-hour delay Tuesday

Johnston County schools – Closed Tuesday

Lee County schools – Closed Tuesday

Mecklenburg County, Virginia public schools – Closed Tuesday

Moore County schools – All classes cancelled Tuesday, Teacher workday

Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools – Closed Tuesday
