The Orange County RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program is seeking older adult volunteers who want to help students to improve their reading skills.

Tutor training will be available on Tuesday, September 9, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for new and returning RSVP volunteers serving the Orange County Schools.

The training will take place at the Orange County School Annex, 1914 New Hope Church Road in Chapel Hill, next to New Hope Elementary School.

This is an excellent opportunity for older adults to bridge the generation gap by partnering with students in Orange County Schools (OCS). The training will be facilitated by OCS literacy coaches and will consist of assessments for reading partners and hands-on activities.

Lunch will be provided at no charge for those who pre-register by Friday, September 5.

For more information or to pre-register, please call Judy Mathias at 919.245.4243.
