The North Carolina Central University Office of Alumni Relations will recognize a select group of young alumni for outstanding achievement and leadership at the second annual Forty Under Forty Awards Gala on Friday, Sept. 12. Congratulations to Radio One Raleigh’s Truitt O’Neal, class of 2001–online media consultant, radio personality and owner of Just Ask Truitt Creative Services.

These recipients, who were selected from among 150 candidates, have demonstrated significant accomplishments before the age of 40 in arts, entertainment, healthcare, sciences, education, law, business, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, public service or government.

Included among NCCU’s 2014 Forty Under Forty awardees are nationally prominent educators, music industry innovators, an Emmy award-winning journalist, international research scientists and a wardrobe stylist who works with A-list celebrities.

NCCU created the Forty Under Forty program to identify and engage high-achieving younger alumni who are well positioned to serve as advocates and ambassadors for the university.

The 2014 Awards Gala is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham and will feature entertainment by the award-winning NCCU Jazz Ensemble, along with the award presentations, dinner and dancing.
