This summer residents can catch a movie and/or groove to music at Durham Parks and Recreation’s Rock the Park Concert and Movie Series at various parks in Durham. This series is free and open to the public.

The Rock the Park Concert and Movie Series will officially kick-off on Saturday, June 14 at Rock Quarry Park (701 Stadium Dr.). Reggae band dub Addis will perform. They will entertain the crowd with their soulful, energizing, and intricate Ethiopian melodies.

Participants will also enjoy jazz, and R&B/old school music as well as family friendly, date night, and kid friendly movies.

Attendees should bring their own lawn chair/blanket as seating will not be provided. Food vendors will be available. No smoking or alcohol allowed. See the full schedule below:

All concerts are held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and movies are from 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
