It’s reported, Lee Daniels is now in talks to direct the Richard Pryor biopic, if he can come to terms with the suits. In addition, the Weinstein Company, who produced and distributed Daniels’ blockbuster drama The Butler, have come on board to back this project.
The biopic has been in the developing stages for a minute, currently Marlon Wayans is at the top of list with Chris Rock producing alongside Adam Sandler. Michael B. Jordan, and Eddie Murphy are on the short list to star in the biopic. The project is being made with input from Pryor’s widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor.
