The 2 groups were to perform back to back; Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles went on first and the Supremes followed them wearing the exact same outfits; Patti says, after that, gossip kept adding fuel to the fire; “From time to time I’d hear about something Diana supposedly said about me; we went years without seeing each other or even talking on the phone”. It was Oprah who unknowingly got them together; she hosted an event and both were invited and wound sitting at the same table; by the end of the event they had exchanged contact info and the friendship started again.
