Richard Pryor starred as Wendell Scott in the biopic “Greased Lightning”.  In 1963 Scott won a national NASCAR race; yesterday Darrell Wallace became the first black driver since Wendell Scott, to win a NASCAR event.  Wallace drove away from the field in the last few laps to win his first Camping World Series Truck Race.Wallace is a graduate of NASCAR’s Drive For Diversity, an initiative started in 2004 to encourage minorities and women to get into auto racing.  Another grad of the program, Kyle Larson, will be part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series next season.Darrell Wallace has long been recognized as one of the up and coming drivers on the NASCAR circuit.
