Major League Baseball will honor the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington during Civil Rights Game weekend in Chicago with a video tribute and presentation of a new March on Washington commemorative stamp by the U.S. Postal Service at the MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon on Saturday, August 24th.

Sharon Robinson, MLB Educational Programming Consultant and the daughter of Baseball Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson will introduce the video at the luncheon. The stamp presentation will follow. The Forever Stamp will be on display at the Beacon Awards Luncheon and at U.S. Cellular Field during the seventh annual Civil Rights Game later that night.

The Forever Stamp is the third in the Postal Service’s Civil Rights series, following stamps issued earlier this year in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the contributions of Rosa Parks. The artwork shows marchers against the background of the Washington Monument, with placards calling for equal rights and jobs for all.
