A mural depicting a man shooting another man resembling Trayvon Martin in a hoodie was unveiled Friday at the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee. The “We Are All Trayvon Martin” painting puts a mirror in the place of Trayvon Martin’s face and has those words written in several languages, as well as images of civil rights leaders like the Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with blood flowing from his head.

The Miami artist, Huong from Vietnam has also has joined the Dream Defenders, the group of young adults who are camped at the Florida capitol hoping to persuade Gov. Rick Scott to change the Stand Your Ground law highlighted by the Martin case.

Huong plans to take the mural on the road and she hoped to display the painting in Washington, D.C.

The project, part of Peace Mural series, includes a 50-foot-long mural studded with the faces of historical figures, including Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln and Malcolm X.

The artist means well, but I have mix reaction to the mural.
