There were camera phones everywhere on Sunday, to capture the moment and the movement to bring about social change in America. Since the Zimmerman verdict, cities across the nation have rallied support for the Martin family and vow for justice for their son Trayvon.

The march began in Moore Square, where crowds heard chants, “No Justice, No Peace,” and words from Minister Curtis Gatewood. Participant Carlton Mitchell said he’s marching for “Justice, Justice for all people, not just black, white for all man-kind.”

Thousands walked several blocks from downtown Raleigh to a capacity crowd at the Martin Street Baptist Church, with hundreds more waiting outside to hear NAACP President Rev. Dr. William Barber II speak. Rev. Dr. Barber delivered a powerful and emotional message calling to repeal North Carolina’s “Stand Your Ground” law. Barber also said, “Not only do we have to repeal the law, we’ve got to pass anti-racial profiling laws right here in North Carolina.”
