Jean Stapleton, the actress who played the “dingbat”, Archie Bunker’s wife Edith, on the sitcom All In The Family, died of natural causes at age 90 in her home in New York City on Saturday. Rob Reiner played the “meathead” son in law Michael, said “Jean was a brilliant comedienne with exquisite timing; working with her was one of my greatest experiences”. A little known actress prior to All In The Family, Miss Stapleton won 3 Emmy Awards during her 8 years on the show.
