The rules of the game in Hollywood are ever-changing. Musician-actor Lenny Kravitz is out and actor Jesse L. Martin is back in the Marvin Gaye biopic “Sexual Healing.” The highly anticipated project has gone through all sorts of developmental chaos.

Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III voiced his objections to the project slamming it as “shameful. The original project was said to focus on Gaye’s life in the ’80s when he battled drug abuse and depression. The film now begins with the singer’s attempt to get his career back on track with the help of British music promoter Freddy Cousaert, now being played by Brendan Gleeson. The project, being produced by Vassal Benton and Fred Bestall, is set to start filming in late March.

Martin is best known for his work as Det. Ed Green on Law & Order.
