Former Miami Dolphins player Chad Johnson is to be arraigned Thursday on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge. The Broward State Attorney’s Office filed the charge Wednesday and Johnson could face up to a year in county jail.
The confrontation came 40 days after Johnson married Evelyn Lozada of the reality TV show ”Basketball Wives.” The footballer got into this mess on Aug. 11 when Lozada discovered a receipt for a box of condoms. During the ensuing argument, Johnson allegedly head butted Lozada, who sustained a laceration to her forehead. Johnson was arrested and was later freed on $2,500 bond
Shortly after the incident, Lozada filed for divorce from the NFL star and he was later dropped from the Dolphins roster.
