The actress stood up for herself and Latinos as the host kept teasing her with disparaging and stereotypical remarks about her country, Colombia, and about Latinos in general.
When Sofia told Dave he should visit Colombia, Dave dissed her suggestion saying “I’m afraid I would be kidnapped.” There, she had it, and delivered the upper hand “No… they don’t even know who you are over there!” to roaring applause.”
