SWV (Sisters With Voices) have made a video for their new single “Co-Sign”; the song is the first single from the trio’s upcoming album “I Missed Us”.

Gayle King says Oprah Winfrey isn’t the Godmother to Beyonce and Jay Z’s baby girl; King says “If Oprah’s the Godmother it’s news to me”. Oprah is the Godmother to King’s 2 children; Gayle King says Oprah hasn’t even had time to buy a gift for the newborn because of her hectic schedule……but Gayle, that doesn’t mean she’s not the Godmother; can somebody ask Oprah?

Freddie Jackson has lost alot of weight, as witnessed during T.V. One’s Unsung and his performance at this year’s Soul Train Awards. Jackson says, no he doesn’t have aids nor has he had a kidney transplant; he lost weight to avoid illnesses like diabetes. About 10 years ago Freddie’s waist measured 46 inches, so he changed his diet and started exercising. Freddie has a new album “For You”

Although he hasn’t said what his next film will be about, Tyler Perry may have already chosen the leading man; according to a tweet from rapper/actor Romeo Miller “I’ve been offered the lead role in Tyler Perry’s next movie”; Tyler hasn’t confirmed the decision though. Last year Romeo Miller played a college student in the movie “Jumping The Broom”.

Beyonce and Jay Z have asked Oprah Winfrey to be God Mother to their daughter Blue Ivy; Oprah is God Mother to the children of long time friend Gayle King; Jay Z’s best friend Tyran Smith is gong to be the God Father. The couple could have asked family members, but said they wanted to pick friends to be the God parents.

After a 6 year absence, Star Jones is returning to “The View”…..as a guest. On February 22nd Star will talk about The American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” campaign, to raise awareness about heart disease; both Jones and Barbara Walters had heart surgery in 2010; Walters says she and Star have had lunch and spoken several times; it’s unclear whether Barbara will be there when Star appears on the show.

Usually 5 songs are nominated for the Oscar Award category “Best Original Song”; this year only 2 songs made the cut. Mary J. Blige says it was a little rough finding out her song “Living Proof”, which she wrote for the movie “the Help”, wasn’t nominated; the singer/songwrigter says she just has to keep doing what she does and use this as a charge to keep striving. “Maybe there’s something else out there for me”.

“Politicizing Beyonce” is the name of the course being taught by Professor Kevin Allred at Rutgers University. The course will explore how the singer has altered America’s views on race, sex, and gender. Professor Allred says they’ll compare Beyonce’s material with the writings of Bell Hooks, Alice Walker and Sojourner Truth, and discuss how the singer has controlled the perspective on her provocative, girlish and empowering image.

Oprah and Stedman have been together for 26 years; Oprah says if they had tied the knot it wouldn’t have lasted; I’m not the marrying kind; Oprah says she’s her own woman and doesn’t conform to others beliefs of what she should be, and some conformity is a part of marriage. Oprah revealed her feelings while filming “Oprah’s Next Chapter”.
