Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed and the second deadliest cancer in American men. Nearly 30,000 men will die from prostate cancer this year. Men over age 65, African-American men and men with a family history of the disease are at higher risk for prostate cancer.

There are no symptoms for early prostate cancer but it can be detected through screening. Men should discuss the risks and benefits of regular prostate cancer screening with their health care provider to make an informed decision as to whether it is right for them. If you are diagnosed, discuss your treatment options with your doctor. Treatment depends on the stage of the cancer, and may include active surveillance, surgery, radiation therapy or other methods.
