Timmy Richardson, a third-grader junior drum major for Shaw University’s Platinum Sound marching band, lands a starring role in the upcoming Tyler Perry production “If Loving You is Wrong.” The production is set to debut this fall on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Sho’Time Timmy enjoys entertaining the crowd at Shaw football games and has done a several stage plays, TV commercials, music videos, short films, as well as independent feature films. Richardson is currently preparing for the release of one of his projects, a short film called “No Child” written by Will Williams and directed by Rob Underhill.
Richardson, recently competed in a 16-week “Amateur Night” competition at the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham hosted by the Apollo Theater in New York. He won his first competition and is preparing to compete in the finals, for a chance to qualify for an all-expense paid trip to New York to audition on the live show “Showtime at the Apollo.”
