The state NAACP and the ‘Forward Together’ movement plans to hold a rally starting at 5 p.m. on Halifax Mall behind the General Assembly building today. This week’s demonstration will focus on protecting education in North Carolina in response to the many cuts in teacher pay and school funding. Last week, about a dozen protesters were cited for sit-ins after they refused to leave the state capitol building.
