So you want to start a small business in Raleigh but need more information? The City of Raleigh Office of Economic Development has compiled the Small Business Resource Guide which covers a variety of pertinent topics on how to successfully get your business off the ground.

In addition to listing resources for starting a small business, the new 28-page resource guide contains information on:

  • City of Raleigh business licenses, permits and zoning;
  • Site and building selection;
  • Incubators and co-working space;
  • Venture/seed/angel funding;
  • City of Raleigh, Wake County and State of North Carolina financial programs;
  • Entrepreneurial resource organizations;
  • Business support organizations; and,
  • Education.

The Small Business Resource Guide is part of an initiative by Mayor Nancy McFarlane to assist new and expanding small businesses in the Capital City.

“Small businesses are key to Raleigh’s economy,” the Mayor said. “I know first-hand how challenging starting a new business can be. This guide provides the information small business owners need to help make starting or growing their business a success.”

The Small Business Resource Guide can be found on the City Office of Economic Development’s website or as a direct PDF download. A limited supply of hard copies of the guide is available by contacting the City of Raleigh Office of Economic Development at 919-996-2707.
