After making what many perceive to be offensive and racist comments on the “Daily Show,” a Buncombe County precinct chair and member of the GOP has stepped down from his post. The segment on the show focused on North Carolina’s Voter ID bill.

In the segment, Don Yelton referred to “lazy black people that wants the government to give them everything.” He also mentioned how he only mocked Obama’s “white side,” not his black half. He used the N-word repeatedly and, of course, mentioned that one of his best friends was black.
