A $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold Wednesday night in Cary, and a Cash 5 ticket purchased in Goldsboro won the $568,000 jackpot, lottery officials said.
Someone in Cary matched all five white balls on their Powerball ticket. This person has 180 days to claim the $1 million prize. The winning ticket, which beat the odds of 1 in 5.1 million, was sold at the Grocery Boy Jr. on Kildaire Farm Road. The winning white ball numbers are 2-9-26-45-47.
Just minutes later, a Cash 5 ticket sold at the Hasty Mart on Miller Chapel Hill Road in Goldsboro matched all five numbers in the drawing to win the $568,550 jackpot. The winning numbers are 18-24-25-27-30.
