George Duke has certainly made an indelible imprint on jazz and pop music over the past forty years. He’s collaborated with some of the most prominent figures in the industry. A producer since the 1980s, he has crafted scores of fine recordings – many of them GRAMMY winners – for artists representing almost every corner of the contemporary American music landscape.
I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Duke in Foxy’s studios several years ago. Like George I began playing musical instruments at a very early age and was delighted to pick his brain and talk about several genres of music. It was one of the most rewarding experiences in my career.
