As the temperature rises and the summer approaches, Durham Parks and Recreation will provide places for residents to cool off. The spraygrounds are open now through September 15 and the outdoor pools will open on June 13- August 16.  See the schedule below:

Spray Grounds

  • Forest Hills, 1639 University Drive
  • Edison Johnson, 500 W. Murray Avenue
  • East End Park and E.D. Mickle Community Center, 1200 N.      Alston Avenue
  • Hillside Sprayground, 1221 Sawyer Street (Will open on      June 13)

Outdoor Pools

Hillside Pool and Sprayground: 1221 Sawyer Street, (919) 560-4783

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday (1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

Saturday and Sunday (1 p.m. – 5 p.m.)

Extended Hours of Operation (Free Swim):  Wednesdays (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.)

 

Long Meadow Pool: 917 Liberty Street, (919) 560-4202

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday (1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

Saturday and Sunday (1 p.m. – 5 p.m.)

Extended Hours of Operation (Free Swim):  Mondays (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.)

The fees for the outdoor pools are as follows:

Youth and Mature Adults (Ages 4-17 and 60+) CR: $2 NCR: $7

Adults: (18 and older) CR: $3 NCR: $8

Children ages three and under are free of charge

CR: City Resident | NCR: Non-City Resident
