North Carolina Wesleyan College officials and Rocky Mount police responded to an early morning incident in a residence hall that resulted in the arrest of a male student.
According to officials, Rocky Mount Police were called to the campus in the early hours of Monday morning to respond to a disturbance in one of the school’s residence halls. When officers arrived, they found a male student that appeared to be intoxicated and making threats.
The student has been identified as 22-year-old Matthew Price of Stantonsburg.

Officers searched Price’s dorm room and car. They found weapons in his vehicle, alcohol in the dorm room and racial slurs posted in his room.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Price is arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including three counts of felony possession of a firearm on educational property. Price is not be allowed to return to campus.
