Dear Tom,
I am writing to nominate my 91-year-old mother-in-law for Thursday Morning Mom. I was married to her only son in back in 1968 and he passed away shortly after in 1970. We both lost someone we loved and she was there to help me through it all with my son Marcus.
She not only raised her 8 children…she also raised all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and now she has great great grandchildren. She wants to get a picture of the whole family someday soon.
She has worked tirelessly for her family and never asks for anything in return. She has been deaconess at Rockville Baptist Church since she moved there in the 50s. She was married to her beloved husband Hasker. They wed when she was 19 and he passed away in 1999 – she has since dedicated her life to helping others.
I live in D.C. now…I haven’t lived in Greenville since 1989, but I still keep in touch with her after all of these years. She doesn’t think that having a Valentine’s Birthday is a big deal, but I do! My wish for her on February 14th is to make her feel like a queen for a day.
