Opportunities to attend college should never be out of reach for our children. On Saturday, I had the pleasure of judging the American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship contest at the Post #116 in Fuquay.
I heard some amazing speeches on the Constitution which gave me hope that there’s a brighter future for our young people. The Division III winner was Patrick Spain (grey suit) from Post 1 in Raleigh. He will go on to represent 13 NC counties at the state contest March 2, in Hickory, NC. The national finals contest will be held in Indianapolis in April.
